D’Angeri, Anna (real name, Anna von Angermayer de Redernburg)
D’Angeri, Anna (real name, Anna von Angermayer de Redernburg) , Austrian soprano; b. Vienna, Nov. 14, 1853; d. Trieste, Dec. 14, 1907. She studied with Marchesi in Vienna. In 1872 she made her operatic debut as Selika in Mantua, and then appeared at London’s Covent Garden (1874–77). She was admired as a Wagnerian, and was the first to sing Ortrud and Venus in London (1875–76). After singing at the Vienna Court Opera (1878–79), she appeared at Milan’s La Scala (1879–81), where she sang Amelia in the rev. version of Simon Boccanegra in 1881. She then married Vittorio Dalem, director of the Teatro Rossetti in Trieste, and retired from the stage.
