d’Almeida, Fernando, Portuguese composer; b. Lisbon, c. 1600; d. Tomar, March 21, 1660. He was a pupil of Duarte Lobo in Lisbon. In 1638 he entered the Order of Christ at Tomar, where he served as a friar and mestre de cápela. He wrote much sacred music, all of which is lost.
