Rupert Bear
Rupert Bear cartoon character created by the illustrator Mary Tourtel, a white bear with a red jacket and black and yellow checked scarf; under the title ‘Rupert, the Adventures of a Little Lost Teddy Bear’, the cartoon appeared in the Daily Express in 1920, and was the first comic strip for children to appear in an adult newspaper.
