Weston Volunteer Fire Department, vice president, 1963–73; Weston Planning Commission, chair, 1969–76; town moderator of Weston, 1970–; Weston town zoning administrator, 1970–76; Vermont House of Representatives, Democratic representative 1973–80, and member of House Natural Resources Committee; other civic positions include member of local environmental board and past trustee of Vermont Land Trust and Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences.
