AWG Maria Luisa Crawford Field Camp Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in geo-
sciences and must have a GPA of 3.0. Criteria: selection is based on merits.
Funds Avail.: $500. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form together with an essay; two letters of recommendations; and college transcripts. Deadline: February 16. Contact: Alice L. Hoer-sch, PhD, hoersch@lasalle.edu.
AWG Minority Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a woman who is African-American, Hispanic, or Native American; full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in the geosciences at an accredited college or university (high school students who will enter one of these fields during their freshman year may also apply). Criteria: Selection is based on merits.
Funds Avail.: $5000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form together with a statement of academic career goals; two letters of recommendation; transcript; and SAT/ACT scores. Deadline: June 30. Contact: Christina Tapia, awgscholarship@ yahoo.com.
Chrysalis Scholarships (Graduate/Grant)
Purpose: To support a geoscience graduate student with their thesis/dissertation. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a female geoscience graduate student. Criteria: Selection is based on the application materials.
Funds Avail.: $2000. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit a letter of application and a reference letter electronically to chrysalis@awg.org, with a subject line: Chrysalis Scholarship. Deadline: March 15.
Penelope Hanshaw Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuit. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled full-time graduate or undergraduate geosciences major; and have a GPA of 3.0. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.
Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicant must submit a nomination letter from a geoscience professor; a recommendation letter from a geoscience faculty; a letter of application; and academic transcripts. uget Sound Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To encourage women to study geoscience. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be an undergraduate woman committed to completing a Bachelor's Degree; pursuing a career or graduate work in the geosciences; a sophomore, junior, or senior woman enrolled in a university or two year college in Washington state west of the Columbia and Okanogan Rivers; have a minimum of 3.2 GPA (or equivalent academic achievement). Criteria: Applicants will be judged based on their potential for professional success, academic achievement and financial need.
Funds Avail.: $1000. To Apply: Applicants must submit their name, address, phone number, and email (if available); One paragraph each describing your (1) financial needs, (2) current resources, and (3) academic achievements; One-page essay summarizing your commitment to a career in the geosciences; Copies of all college transcripts (photocopies accepted); Three letters of reference; provide names, affiliations, phone numbers. Deadline: November 3.

William Rucker Greenwood Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support students with educational pursuits. Focus: Geosciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a minority woman; enrolled full-time graduate or undergraduate geosciences major. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.
Funds Avail.: $1000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a geoscience professor or chairperson, and another from a geoscience faculty or employer; and a letter of application.
