AIST Baltimore Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance education and careers in engineering or metallurgy. Focus: Engineering; Metallurgy. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent or a spouse of a commendable member of the AIST Baltimore Chapter Scholarship; must be attending an eligible, full-time course in the field of engineering at an institution; demonstrate interest towards a career in the field of iron and steel industry. Criteria: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Award Committee.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 1. AIST Detroit Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance education and careers in the iron and steel-related industry. Focus: Engineering; Metallurgy. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent of an AIST Detroit Chapter member in good standing for two or more consecutive years; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student majoring in engineering, metallurgy or materials science program at an accredited North American university; demonstrate interest towards a career in the field of iron and steel industry. Criteria: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Award Committee.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. Number Awarded: 2. AIST Northwest Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance education and careers in the field of engineering. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a relative of a member of the AIST Northwest Member Chapter; must be a Pacific Northwest student; must demonstrate great interest in the iron and steel profession. Chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, engineering and physics students are also qualified for the scholarships. Criteria: Priority will be given to engineering students. Academic achievements in chemistry, mathematics and physics are a major basis for the selection. Extra-curricular activities and student statements are also considered.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application form available at the website; a resume; a recommendation/evaluation from a

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students who are planning to enter an accredited North American school. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be related to a San Francisco Chapter member; must be planning to attend or currently enrolled at an accredited university or college (full-time course only). Criteria: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Award Committee.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 1. Purpose: To enhance education and careers in the iron and steel-related industries. Focus: Engineering; Metallurgy. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an engineering, metallurgy or materials science program at an accredited North American university; have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; demonstrate interest toward a career in the field of iron and steel industry. Globe-Trotters Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance education and careers in the iron and steel-related industry. Focus: Metallurgy. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent of a member (Globe-Trotters member must also be a current member of AIST); be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Postgraduate students are also qualified for the scholarships. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the submitted essay, academic and extracurricular activities.

Northeastern Ohio Chapter Scholarships - Alfred B. Glossbrenner and John Klusch Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance to students who wish to pursue their education and career in engineering and metallurgy. Focus: Engineering; Metallurgy. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent of an at least two-year member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology, which must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S landed immigrant. Applicant should also be a full-time student from an accredited North American University; pursuing education in the field of engineering or metallurgy. Chemistry, geology, mathematics or physics students are also qualified for the scholarships. Criteria: Recipient is selected based on academic achievements in science (i.e. chemistry, mathematics and physics); extra-curricular activities and student statements will also be considered.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. Number Awarded: 1. Ohio Valley Chapter Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance education and careers in engineering, metallurgy, physical science, computer technology or an engineering technology field. Focus: Engineering; Metallurgy; Physical sciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent or member of Ohio Valley Chapter of the AIST; planning to attend or currently enrolled full-time curriculum at an accredited university or college; pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering/Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Metallurgy, Physical Sciences, Computer Technology, Computer Programming, Information Systems Technology, Chemistry, Biology/Microbiology, Physics, other engineering-related fields, or other related fields approved by the committee. Criteria: Recipient is selected based on academic performance and achievements in mathematics and science, extracurricular activities and essays.

Purpose: To provide financial support for Canadian students who are pursuing a career in engineering. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a dependent of a Canadian citizen or an immigrant who is a commendable member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology; must be attending full-time engineering course at an accredited Canadian university or college. Chemistry, geology, mathematics or physics students are also welcome for the scholarships. Criteria: Priority will be given to engineering students.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. Number Awarded: 1. Purpose: To provide educational assistance to students who are planning a career in Engineering or the sciences. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Southeast Chapter student; planning to take up courses in engineering, sciences or other majors related to iron and steel production. Criteria: Recipient will be selected based on the SAT or ACT scores for college applicants and on the applicant's GPA from an accredited college or institution (non-first year student). Extra-curricular activities and student's written essays are also considered.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application form available at the website; a resume; a recommendation/evaluation from a counselor, teacher or professor; copy of SAT/ACT scores; copy of transcripts; and an essay (maximum of 250 words)

discussing the applicant's involvement in high school and the reason why the applicant deserves the scholarship.
