Stehle, Adelina
Stehle, Adelina, outstanding Austrian soprano; b. Graz, 1860; d. Milan, Dec. 24, 1945. She studied in Milan. She made her operatic debut in Broni in 1881 as Amina; then sang in Bologna, Florence, and Venice. In 1890 she joined La Scala in Milan, where she created roles in Falstaff asNanetta, in Guglielmo Ratcliff as Maria, and others; also sang in Berlin, Vienna, St. Petersburg, South America, and the U.S. After her marriage to Edoardo Garbin, she appeared under the name of Stehle Garbin.
