Schlick, Arnolt
Schlick, Arnolt, eminent blind German organist and composer; b. probably in Heidelberg, c. 1460; d. probably there, after 1521. He was made organist for life at the Palatine court in Heidelberg in 1509, and also traveled as an organist and a consultant on the organ. He pubi. Spiegel der Orgelmacher und Organisten (Speyer, 1511; facsimile and Eng. tr. by E. Barber, Buren, 1978). He brought out Tablaturen etlicher lobgesang und lidlein uff die orgeln un lauten (Mainz, 1512; ed. by G. Harms, Hamburg, 1924; second ed., 1957).
