Pisador, Diego

Pisador, Diego, Spanish vihuelist and composer; b. Salamanca, 1509 or 1510; d. probably there, after 1557. In 1526 he took minor orders. In 1552 he publ. in Salamanca Libro de música de vihuela, containing madrigals, a set of Spanish ballads, and transcriptions of secular and sacred works by Josquin and others. A. Morphy ed. 14 of Pisador’s works in Les luthistes espagnols du XVI siècle (Leipzig, 1902).
