Krejčí, Miroslav

Krejčí, Miroslav, Czech composer and teacher; b. Rychnov nad Knëznou, Nov. 4, 1891; d. Prague, Dec. 29, 1964. He studied piano, organ, and theory at home, and subsequently took courses in natural history, geography, and music at the Univ. of Prague (1910–14). He also studied composition privately with Novak (1911–13). He then taught in Prague and Litomerice (1915–53), and was a prof, at the Prague Cons. (1943–53).
