Th., Mannheim, 1972–5. Intendant, Cologne Opera from 1975. Prod. opera at Salzburg (début 1982, Così fan tutte), Vienna, Paris, Milan, Edinburgh Fest., and London. CG début 1984 (Andrea Chénier).
