Born on July 20, 1835; died on January 25, 1900; daughter of Ernest, 4th prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, and Feodore of Leiningen (half-sister of Queen Victoria ); married Frederick, duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenberg, on September 11, 1856; children: five, including Augusta of Schleswig-Holstein (1858–1921, first wife of Kaiser Wilhelm II); Caroline Matilda of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenberg (1860–1932).
