Seid, Ruth (1913–1995)
American novelist and short-story writer. Name variations: (pseudonym) Jo Sinclair. Born July 1, 1913; died April 3, 1995, in Jenkintown, PA; dau. of Russian-Jewish immigrants; grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.
Was a contributor to the New Masses; wrote novel Wasteland (1946), which won the Harper Prize; also wrote The Changelings (1955), Sing at My Wake and Anna Teller.
