Duchess of Burgundy. Name variations: Michelle de France. Born in 1394; died on July 8, 1422, in Ghent, Flanders, Belgium; daughter of Charles VI, king of France (r. 1380–1422), and Isabeau of Bavaria (1371–1435); sister of Charles VII (1403–1461), king of France (r. 1422–1461); became, around 1415, first wife of Philip the Good, duke of Burgundy (r. 1419–1467). Philip the Good later married Bonne of Artois (d. 1425), then Isabella of Portugal (1397–1471).
