English runner. Name variations: Heather Oakes; Heather Hunte-Oakes. Born Aug 14, 1959, in England, of Guyanese parentage; m. Gary Oakes (Olympian).

At United Kingdom championships, won a gold medal for 200 meters (1979); won a bronze medal at Moscow Olympics (1980) and a bronze medal at Los Angeles Olympics (1984), both in the 4×100-meter relay; won the 100 meters at the Commonwealth Games (1986).
