Becker, Jillian (1932–)

South African novelist and historian. Born 1932 in Johannesburg, South Africa; m. Gerry Becker.

Moved to England (1961), but early novels focus on interracial tension and life in South Africa; works of fiction include The Keep (1967), The Union (1971) and The Virgins (1976); nonfiction includes Hitler's Children: The Story of the Baader-Meinhof Terrorist Gang (1978), The P.L.O.: The Rise and Fall of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (1984) and Giving Up: The Last Days of Sylvia Plath (2003); also edited The Soviet Union and Terrorism (1984).
