Coelomycetes (subdivision Deuteromycotina) A class of imperfect fungi which produce conidia within acervuli or pycnidia. The vegetative state is a septate mycelium. They are saprotrophic on plant debris, soil, etc; some can also cause disease in plants. Some have perfect states classified in the Ascomycotina.
