Cedrela (family Meliaceae) A genus of deciduous trees in which the leaves are pinnate. The flowers have a columnar disc to which the petals and stamens are adnate. The fruit is a small capsule. Some yield valuable timber (especially C. odorata, used for cigar boxes), closely related to Toona. There are 8 species, occurring from Mexico and the Caribbean region to Argentina.
