Vaṣaṭ or Vauṣat. Ritual exclamation in Hinduism uttered by the hotṛ (see ṚTVIJ) priest at the end of the sacrificial offering verse. Once it is uttered, the oblation is cast in the fire. Vaṣaṭ summons the gods and unifies the cosmos in the offering.
