Vasconcelos, Jorge Croner de
Vasconcelos, Jorge Croner de, Portuguese composer and teacher; b. Lisbon, April 11,1910; d. there, Dec. 9, 1974. He studied in Lisbon with Aroldo Silva (piano; 1927-31) and at the Cons, with Freitas Branco (composition; 1927-34), then completed his training with Dukas, Boulanger, and Roger-Ducasse in Paris (1934-37). From 1939 he taught composition at the Lisbon Cons.
