inMarshall the Supreme Court held unconstitutional a congressional enactment authorizing Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors to conduct warrantless searches of employment facilities to monitor compliance with regulations. probable cause for a warrant can, however, be satisfied on a lesser showing than that required in a search for criminal evidence.
