MOAA American Patriot Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help children of Uniformed Services members who died or was severley disabled while in active service as a member of the Regular, Guard or Reserve Forces. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a child of a member of the Uniformed Services who died while in active service; must be under the age of 24 at the time of application (the maximum age for students who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces before completing college will be increased by the number of years served, for up to five years of service or 29 years of age); must be planning to attend an accredited college/university as a full-time student seeking their first undergraduate degree; and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Awards are given based on scholastic ability, activities, and financial need.

Funds Avail.: At least $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must apply for the scholarship online. Deadline: March 3.

MOAA Base/Post Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help children of active Uniformed Services members. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be the dependent son/daughter (under age 24) of an active duty officer and enlisted military personnel. Criteria: Recipients are randomly selected.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: 25. To Apply: Applicants must apply for the scholarship online. Deadline: March 3.

General John Paul Ratay Educational Grants (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To help children of Uniformed Services members. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be the child of the surviving spouse of a retired officer. Criteria: Applicants must apply for a loan in order to be considered.

Funds Avail.: $4,000. To Apply: Applicants must apply online. Deadline: March 3.
