Description: State-supported, comprehensive, coed. Part of The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1839. Setting: 160-acre small town campus with easy access to Richmond. Endowment: $26.5 million. Research spending 2002-03: $20,575. Educational spending 2002-03: $3733 per student.
