SIDELIGHTS:
Donald R. Wells told CA: "After retiring as an economics professor, I joined the Society for American Baseball Research and began writing on the baseball I watched and listened to on the radio in the 1940s as a kid. After two baseball books, one lady at McFarland noticed that I was a retired economist and suggested that I write on that subject. My book on the Federal Reserve was easy for me because I taught money and banking for thirty years. It is now in almost 1,000 libraries on four continents."
