SIDELIGHTS: Claire Malroux is a French poet as well as a translator. She has translated from English to French the works of poets such as Derek Walcott, Emily Dickinson, and Emily Brontë.

Her 1998 work, A Long Gone Sun, is a poem in which Malroux tells of her childhood in France during World War II and her father's involvement in the French Resistance, which ultimately lead to his death in a Nazi concentration camp. Edge is a collection of Malroux's poems taken from two of her previous books of poetry, Aires and Entre nous et la lumiere, and also a handful of new poems. Prairie Schooner contributor Eleanor M. Hamilton noted that "Malroux's poetry is a mirror she reaches through in search of what lies behind it," and also added: "I find her poems stimulating and freeing."
