Spanish teacher at schools in Darién, Colombia, 1968-71, and Tuluá, Colombia, 1971-73; University of Massachusetts—Amherst, Spanish teacher, 1973-75; Universidad de Caldas, Manizales, Colombia, Spanish teacher, 1975-92; University of Nebraska—Lincoln, Spanish teacher, 1992-95; Augusta State University, Augusta, GA, assistant professor, beginning 1995, then associate professor of Spanish language and contemporary Latin-American literature. Lecturer at colleges and universities in the United States and abroad, including Georgia Southern University, Roanoke College, and Augusta College.
