Wishart, Peter (Charles Arthur)
Wishart, Peter (Charles Arthur), English composer and teacher; b. Crowborough, June 25, 1921; d. Frome, Aug. 14, 1984. He received training in composition from Hely-Hutchinson at the Univ. of Birmingham (1938-41) and from Boulanger in Paris (1947-48). He taught at the Univ. of Birmingham (1950-59), the Guildhall School of Music in London (from 1961), King’s Coll., London (1972-77), and the Univ. of Reading (1977-84). He publ. the books Harmony (London, 1956) and Key to Music (London, 1971).
