Vrieslander, Otto

Vrieslander, Otto German composer and writer on music; b. Münster, July 18, 1880; d. Tegna, Switzerland, Dec. 16,1950. He was a student of Stemhauer and Buths in Düsseldorf (1891-1900), of Van de Sandt and Klauwell at the Cologne Cons. (1901-02), and of Schen-ker in Vienna (1911-12). In 1929 he settled in Switzerland. He publ. Cari Philipp Emanuel Bach (Munich, 1923), and also wrote articles on and prepared eds. of C. P. E. Bach’s music. Vrieslander was an accomplished lieder composer.
