Tiby, Ottavio
Tiby, Ottavio, Italian musicologist; b. Palermo, May 19, 1891; d. there, Dec. 4, 1955. He studied at the Palermo Cons., graduating in composition in 1921; later studied in Rome. Returning to Palermo, he devoted himself to collecting Sicilian songs. He was also an authority on Byzantine music.
