Taub, Robert
Taub, Robert (David), American pianist; b. New Brunswick, N.J., Dec. 25, 1955. He studied composition with Babbitt at Princeton Univ. (B.A., 1977) and piano with Lateiner at the Juilliard School in N.Y. (M.M., 1978; D.M.A., 1981). On Oct. 29, 1981, he made his N.Y. recital debut at Alice Tully Hall. Thereafter he toured North and South America, Europe, and the Far East. In 1994 he became artist-in-residence of the Inst. for Advanced Study in Princeton. In addition to the piano literature of the early, Classical, and Romantic eras, he has explored the music of Scriabin, Persichetti, and Babbitt with success.
