Lavagnino, Angelo Francesco

Lavagnino, Angelo Francesco, Italian composer; b. Genoa, Feb. 22, 1909; d. Gavi, Aug. 21, 1987. He studied with Renzo Rossi and Vito Frazzi at the Milan Cons., graduating in 1933. From 1948 to 1962 he was a prof, of film music at the Accademia Musicale in Siena. Among his compositions were an opera, Malafonte (Antwerp, 1952), the orch. pieces Volo d’api (1932), Tempo alto (1938), Violin Concerto (1941), and Pocket Symphony (1949), Piano Quintet (1942), and Violin Sonata (1943).
