Lāvān
Lāvān (Pañjābī, ‘reverent circumambulation of sacred fire or scriptures’). For Hindus this refers to the central marriage rite in which bride and groom, linked by a scarf, walk clockwise around the sacred fire. For Sikhs it means circling the Ādi Granth four times.
