Krumpholtz, Johann (Baptist) (b Budenuce, nr. Zlonice, 1742; d Paris, 1790). Bohemian harpist and composer. Originated several improvements in the hp., incl. invention of hp. with two pedals, loud and soft. Comp. several works for hp. Drowned himself in Seine because of wife's infidelity with J. L. Dušek.
