Klughardt, August (Friedrich Martin)
Klughardt, August (Friedrich Martin), German conductor and composer; b. Cothen, Nov. 30, 1847; d. Rosslau, near Dresden, Aug. 3, 1902. He was a pupil of Blassmann and Reichel in Dresden. From 1867 to 1868 he was a theater conductor in Posen, and then held similar posts in Neustrelitz(1868-69) and Lübeck (1869). He served as court music director in Weimar (1869-73), where he became a friend of Liszt. He then was music director in Neustrelitz (1873-82) and Dessau (from 1882).
