International Society for Contemporary Music. Soc. founded after fest. by young Viennese composers in Salzburg in 1922, under first presidency of E. J. Dent. Many nat. sections. Annual fest. held each year at a different place, at which the works of contemporary composers of all nationalities are given a hearing. Works to be played are chosen by int. jury. Known as ISCM.
