Andreoli, Carlo
Andreoli, Carlo, Italian pianist, conductor, and composer, brother of Guglielmo Andreoli; b. Mirandola, Jan. 8, 1840; d. Reggio Emilia, Jan. 22, 1908. He studied with his father, Evangelista Andreoli, then with Antonio Angeleri at the Milan Cons. (1852–58). He made his debut as a pianist in Milan in 1858; subsequently appeared as a virtuoso throughout Italy and Europe. With his brother, he organized the Società dei Concerti Sinfonica Popolari of Milan, serving as its conductor from 1877 to 1887. He became insane in 1891, and lingered in this condition for many years until his death.
