VAN TILBURG, Hans (Konrad). American, b. 1961. Genres: Archaeology/ Antiquities. Career: University of California, Berkeley, instructor in scientific diving techniques, 1985-87; worked as commercial inshore and offshore diver in Louisiana and California, 1987; sport diving instructor in California and North Carolina, 1987-92; State Historical Society of Wisconsin, diving safety supervisor and crew chief, 1993; teacher of summer field courses in maritime archaeology techniques, 1995-2001. East Carolina University, diving safety supervisor, crew chief, and instructor, 1991-93; participated as investigator, dive master, crew chief, and diving safety officer for field expeditions. Worked as sailor aboard the sloops Brunhilde, Mermaid, and Westwind, prior to 1992; certified scuba diver, c. 1971-. Worked as a carpenter in California, 1985-91. Publications: (coed.)
