American golfer. Name variations: (nickname) Fry. Born on February 9, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Although she joined the LPGA tour in 1956, golfer Jo Ann Prentice did not enjoy her first victory until the 1965 Jackson Open. More consistent in her game following that win, she won the 1967 Dallas Civitan, the 1972 Corpus Christi (in a 10-hole play-off with Sandra Palmer ), the 1973 Burdines, the 1974 Colgate-Dinah Shore , and the 1974 American Defender. In 1974, a banner year, she had 20 finishes in the top 20, won two tournaments, and placed fourth for the year.
