Scottish politician and member of Parliament. Born Bridget Corr, Dec 28, 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland; dau. of James (a joiner) and Bridget Corr (clerical worker); University of Glasgow, MA; South Bank University, LLB; m. Gordon Prentice (MP), 1975 (div. 2000).

Representing Labour, elected to House of Commons for Lewisham East (1992); reelected (1997, 2001, 2005); appointed government whip (1997).
