Born Maria Beatrice Victoire Josephine on December 6, 1792; died on September 15, 1840; daughter of Maria Teresa of Austria (1773–1832) and Victor Emmanuel I (1759–1824), king of Sardinia (r. 1802–1821, abdicated); married Franz or Francis IV (1779–1846), duke of Modena (r. 1814–1846), on June 20, 1812; children: Therese of Bourbon (1817–1886); Francis V (1819–1875), duke of Modena (r. 1846–1859, who married Adelgunde of Bavaria ); Ferdinand (1821–1849, who married Elizabeth [1831–1903], daughter of Archduke Joseph); Maria Beatrice of Modena (1824–1906, who married the infante Juan de Borbon).
