Lisiewska, Rosina (1716–1783)
German artist. Name variations: Anna Rosina Lisiewska, Liscewska or Lisziewska; Rosina Lisiewska-deGasc; Madame Matthieu. Born Anna Rosina Lisiewska in 1716 (some sources cite 1713); died in 1783; daughter of George Lisiewski or Lisziewski, a Polish painter who may have been her first teacher; sister of Anna Lisiewska (1721–1782); married.
Rosina Lisiewska had great success after 1755, following the death of her husband. As Madame Matthieu, she was invited to Brunswick to undertake royal commissions. She was also named to the Dresden Academy.
