Henriot-Schweitzer, Nicole (1925—)
French pianist, concert artist, and teacher who specialized in the French repertoire. Born on November 23, 1925, in Paris, France.
Nicole Henriot-Schweitzer was born in Paris in 1925 and studied there with Marguerite Long , winning a first prize in Long's class in 1938. Her concert tours took her throughout Europe as well as North and South America. Her U.S. debut took place in 1948, with Charles Munch conducting the New York Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra. Henriot-Schweitzer also made recordings with Munch and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Specializing in the French repertoire, she taught at the Liége Conservatory from 1970 through 1973 and served on the faculty of the Brussels Conservatory.
