American-born English music-hall star. Born Ella Buscher, Sept 26, 1879, in Baltimore, MD; died Aug 5, 1952, in Lancaster, England; m. William Hargreaves.

Debuted on the British variety stage (1904); famed as a male impersonator in top hat, white tie and tails; best remembered for song "Burlington Bertie from Bow"; other songs include "Waltz Time," "The Girl in White," "When You've Got Money in Your Pocket" and "Just One Kill, Just Another One."
