Worked as research librarian, 1st National Bank, St. Louis (1946–49); was research director Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation (1958–63); was a commentator for "America Wake Up" radio program (1962–66); served as a delegate to Republican National Convention, several years; was president of the Illinois Federation of Republican Women (1960–64); caused a stir with ultra-conservative book A Choice not an Echo in support of Barry Goldwater (1964); was 1st vice-president, National Federation of Republican Women (1965–67); crisscrossed the US to build a powerful lobby to defeat the ERA; also wrote The Power of the Positive Woman.
