Keil, Birgit (1944–)
German ballet dancer. Born Sept 22, 1944, in Kowarchen, Sudetenland, Germany; trained at Wurttemberg State Theater Ballet and with Royal Ballet School, London.
Danced with Stuttgart Ballet where she created roles in works by John Cranko, including Opus I (1965), Jeu de Cartes (1965) and The Seasons (1971), and danced in his repertory works, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Eugene Onegin, Carmen, and Taming of the Shrew; danced in premieres of Tetley's Greening (1975), Kylian's Return from Strange Land (1975), and Macmillan's Lady of the Camelias (1978); was a guest dancer in Eliot Feld's Impromptu in NY (1976).
