Kazel, Dorothy (1931–)
American nun and martyr. Born June 30, 1939; killed Dec 2, 1980 in El Salvador.
Joined Ursuline Sisters and taught in Cleveland (1960–67); joined the diocese of Cleveland's mission team in El Salvador (1974), where she transported homeless people, especially women and children, to refugee centers, and oversaw Catholic relief aid, among other things; was slain by National Guardsmen in El Salvador, along with Ita Ford, Maura Clarke and Jean Donovan.
