Austrian actress. Born Adrienne Geiringer in Maria Schutz am Semmering, Austria, July 23, 1896; died in Vienna, June 23, 1987; m. Ernst Lothar.
A distinguished actress and major star on the Vienna stage, before Hitler's minions marched into Austria; with husband, sailed for America (1938); soon appeared on Broadway in such plays as Another Sun, Claudia and Thank You, Svoboda; also portrayed Aunt Trinka in I Remember Mama; returned to Austria, becaming one of the leading actresses of the Burgtheater and Salzburg Festival.
