Corkle, Francesca (1952–)
American ballet dancer. Born Aug 2, 1952, in Seattle, Washington; dau. of Virginia Ryan Corkle (dancer).
Studied at American Ballet Center and City Center Joffrey Ballet; joined Joffrey and remained there throughout career, creating roles in Gerald Arpino's Confetti (1970) and Kettentanz (1971), and Joffrey's Remembrances (1974) and Postcards (1980); was featured in majority of company's repertory works including Balanchine's Square Dance and Ruthanna Boris' Cakewalk.
