Callender, Hannah (1737–1801)

American diarist. Born 1737, probably in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; raised in Burlington, New Jersey; died 1801; m. Samuel Sansom, 1762.

Traveled widely, visiting Quaker communities in Pennsylvania, NY, and New Jersey; recorded experiences in diary (1757–62), which was published as "Extracts from the Diary of Hannah Callender," in Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography (1888).
