Argiriadou, Chryssoula (1901–1998)

Greek poet, playwright and essayist. Name variations: Hrisoula Pendziki; Hrisoula Aryiriadou; Chryssoula or Chrisoula Argyriadou; (pseudonym) Zoe Karelli or Zoi Karelli. Born Hrisoula Pendziki, 1901, in Thessaloniki, Greece; died July 16, 1998, in Thessaloniki; sister of Nikos-Gavril Pentzikis (writer).

Published 1st work, the short story "Moods" (1935), and 1st collection of poetry, Pathway (1940); became a member of the Greek National Academy. Twice awarded Greek national poetry award.
